Manufactory
Our manufactory
Craftsmanship for over 140 years
Masterly manufacture
We are confectioners, master confectioners and pastry chefs, and we are committed to the old tradition of making pralines and truffles. We still use traditional methods to make our fillings, and we are particularly proud, for example, of our hand-beaten puffed brittle. This is a craft that only a few confectioners still master. We not only want to preserve such artisanal traditions, but also to pass them on to future generations. For this reason, and because quality is always our top priority, we make every praline, every truffle and every sweet speciality expertly and with great attention to detail.

Our tradition
Experience since 1880
Berlin's oldest chocolate factory
In 1880, Ladislaus Maximilianus Ziemkiewicz opened his first shop for fine French chocolates in Berlin's boulevard "Unter den Linden". He had previously learned the art of making them in Paris. A neighbour, Marie de Savadé, became the namesake of his business. Obviously, the two shared a special relationship beyond mere neighbourliness. His chocolates were of such high quality that Prince George of Prussia and the Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach appointed him Royal Purveyor to the Court.

Our quality
Natural ingredients and finest raw materials
100% nature 100% Berlin
Only natural ingredients and fine raw materials are processed in our manufactory in Berlin Reinickendorf.
We use real butter and fresh cream, the finest nougat, the best marzipan, fine cocoa, bourbon vanilla, caramelised nuts and homemade ganaches, dark and whole milk couverture and white chocolate.
We never use chemical preservatives, artificial flavours or cheaper substitutes. And of course we do not use palm oil.
We do not compromise on ingredients. Not even for a longer shelf life.

World-class marzipan
We use only 100% Sawade marzipan raw paste in all our marzipan chocolates and specialities, which we also call "fine marzipan" for the sake of simplicity.
Our marzipan is made from Mediterranean almonds. This special mixture of sweet and bitter almonds is roasted in the traditional copper roasting kettle process and captivates with its aroma full of character, its fine grind and its balanced sweetness.
That is why we do not add any additional sugar to our marzipan, but process it pure.
